Bill Page - Club age graded competition latest results after Bewl

(July 02, 2018)

Here are the latest rankings in the Club’s annual competition for the best all round road runner – evaluated on an “age adjusted basis” after 9 of the 17 potential races.  Some points to note:

Katie Morgan remains in the lead but is joined by Naomi Cikalo as the only qualifiers in the Ladies competition, however, she secures additional points after her excellent run at Heathfield and Bewl.  Several Ladies have 2 qualifying races only – so the competition is open - indeed the holder is only 74.76 behind Katie and has already scored over 80 in one race!

Jack Chivers continues to maintain a strong lead over Matt Quinton and Chris Glanfield in the Male competition – but there are several other males just one race away from joining the leader-board, just where TBD!

A few points to note

1)      The ranking sheet is under new management!  Club President Mark Sykes has taken this on from overworked membership secretary Tim Hicks.

2)      The age factors used have also been updated to use the latest (2015) figures published by the WMA organisation (World Masters Athletics).  Most male races have seen the world’s best times improve both at the open level and also the age bests – this has reduced most gradings.  Similarly for the ladies the older age group bests have improved lowering scores – but mostly by not quite as much as the men’s.

3)      The Club’s endurance management continues to use the races that were selected for the 2017 SGP series, even though several have been dropped from the reformatted SGP calendar for 2018.  Please see the BPQualifn tab for the eligible races

4)      If you ran a race and don’t see your name there – please contact Carl Bicknell immediately
