Bill Page Road Racing series 2019 after 3 Races

(July 12, 2019)

So after a strong turnout on Wednesday evening along the Promenade at Hove for the Phoenix 10k we now have 40 Harriers registering a score in the Beetroot Club's road racing series.  However, only 9 members have TWO scoring races and NONE have yet scored in the required 3 races.  Still with only 3 of the 6 series races completed there's plenty of opportunity for things to change.  Race and series standings are here.

So far we see, based on average race scores

In the Age Graded competition

For the Ladies: Sam Ridley is stretching away from Marion Hemsworth, though Darja Knotkova-Hanley gave a strong showing at Phoenix

For the Men: James Skinner's excellent first run has pulled him potentially well in front of Julian Boyer and Ben Gibson; however, the latter have 2 races on the board.

In the Open competition

For the Ladies: Darja's excellent run has her well in front of Sam Ridley and Amanda Soper - but only Sam has 2 races scoring so far...

For the Men : James Skinner is just in front of Ben Gibson, with Rob Watts putting a fine showing for third place

There are still 3 races left and all could change many times.  Next up is the double header weekend at the August Bank Holiday with both Newick 10k and the King's Head Canter 5k providing scoring opportunities.  For those without a HM score - Barns Green on Sept 29th needs to be in your diary!

Please note : for the club competition we use "Chip Time" - I think Sports Systems who processed the Phoenix race results used Gun time.
