Harriers keep lead in SWL
(June 07, 2014)Despite having a lower turnout than the previous fixture, Haywards Heath Harriers Ladies continued their progress towards retaining the Southern Womens League Division 1 Title. Up against a strong Hercules Wimbledon team, who were hosting the fixture, the ladies battled on to gain as many points as possible to boost their lead. The junior members excelled themselves and produced some great individual and team performances. They were supported by a slighter weaker than usual senior team due to many studying for exams. However, this did not deter those who did compete and they managed to fill almost all of the events. A well-deserved second place now leaves the ladies team 135 points clear at the top of the table as the team who were in second place only managed fourth place on the day. With a home fixture next on 12th July, it is important that they continue to put pressure on the other teams by sending a strong team themselves.
