Young Athletes

Haywards Heath Harriers has a strong Beginner, Junior and Interermediate section who benefit from dedicated coaching. Usually, training is on a Tuesday evening at Whiteman's Green, Cuckfield from April to September and at Warden park Academy from September to April however at the moment, we are operating a revised schedule due to COVID resrictions. All junior Harriers training sessions are by invitation only.

The Club caters only for 9 years old and upwards. However, the sport’s governing body, UKA, recognizes athletes only from their 11th birthday. The number of juniors, under 13, that we can accommodate is also governed by space and the number of coaches we can call on week by week.

School Years 10 and below - Unfortunately, we have reached our junior number capacity and are unable to take any additional children under 15

Haywards Heath Harriers  aims to provide appropriate coaching and competition in all Track and Field events as well as Cross Country and Road Running.  More information is available on the relevant links.

ATHLETICS 365......We follow the Athletics 365 coaching initiative which was brought in by UK Athletics (UKA) in 2010. They believe that effective and consistent delivery of this scheme, as part of a structured club development programme, will support the attainment of competency in the foundation skills of athletics in young athletes. This, in turn, will then hopefully support their goal of achieving success as a sport at a high level and producing a new generation of athletes.
